Four members of the SUDDS team went to Seattle to attend a one-day meeting reporting on our progress on our Grade 6-8 Mathematics Learning Map. We joined the other five national groups funded for this work to discuss issues of navigation, visualization, map objects, forms of assessments, and to identify new steps. The SUDDS team seeks to draw on the strengths of both corporate and academic environments, combining agility with theoretically grounded design studies to pioneer and investigate new learning environments. We carry out our work in interdisciplinary teams of content providers, teachers, visual designers, UX/UI specialists, software engineers, and measurement experts. We seek to develop effective ways to produce well-prepared scholars and designers for entry into the workforce.
